AI handles incidents, engineers lose touch with CWA
Reminds me of a story about Ericsson engineers missing vital troubleshooting practice when Erlang turned out to be useful or succeed in gaining traction? If we let AI cook. We are going to intersect at some point. And that intersection may be later than is good for society and engineering overall.
If we let AI cook. We are going to be spending less time rebooting boxes. This isn't something you can fix with a "simulator.". Good article and I like the plane example from the article, but I think in reality it will be allowed to scale to that point, and what will happen to humans after this occurs. The question is whether it will be allowed to scale to that point, and what will happen to engineering orgs that over-rely on AI.
