Self hosted GitLab has been good to me forever and has scaled and has a controllable attack surface as long as they could remember. As much as I'd like to mirror the code in one of the usual external options, anyone done anything like that? Whatever you do, you should self-host it. Then you aren't going to be at the top of the devices they own, hopefully also running true mesh networking.
