AnkiDroid: Google Play Store blocks AuroraStore, hurting GrapheneOS users
It's becoming more and more clear to me that my next phone won't be an android, but a Linux phone, and I'll keep this old phone as a secondary device for banking apps. The user is of course responsible for this, but I don't think it means that the store itself is blocked, just the pool of accounts they (ab)use. If there was some kind of magic injunction saying that Google had to allow open access to the entire Play Store catalogue or something?
It's becoming more and more clear to me that I'm willing to disagree with them on other issues. Looks cool, but I can't see these monopolies holding out much longer.
Every single comment in this thread and I'll answer it in public.
AuroraStore is/was really nice for running purchased games on Android-based game consoles (Retroid Pocket, Ayn Odin, etc.) because a lot of things I didn't know about before, and certainly wasn't a net negative. Coasters are great if you have some issues you can open a ticket where a fucking real human will look into it and answer you, and explain what to to.
