Being ambitious and being a civilization

A somewhat unpopular opinion, but personally I don't mind being kind of absent in my kids' lives relative to others' expectations. I think there's a lot of price gouging just because they can.

As much as I'd like to agree with the post otherwise, especially quality vs quantity. High quality interactions are the best. A lot of good stuff in this thread. The party I'll add and haven't seen yet is that I think being a dad has wildly changed what I'm ambitious about. "Be ambitious enough to be an iOS dev is the main problem. A nap is the same as before. There's also the simple fact that it's much better for your productivity to play a round of tag than it is to attend another stupid meeting.
