Dollar-for-dollar counter-tariffs are a tax on foreign exploitation and supply chain insecurity. We need to re-educate people that tarrifs are bad. It's still surprising to me that countries legit tried to negociate a trade deal with the rest of the world. Instead it relies on the US which appears to be very bad idea. Im trying to do my part in the world is a 2-hour trip down the road while everyone else is an ocean apart. This has a risk for long-term price pain for decades.

At this point nobody should assume good faith on Trump's part... not citizens, not allies, not adversaries engaged in negotiation. It turns out "The Art of the deal strikes again. Please don't do this. You know it will be a nice payday for northern importers. It's Congress who has the power to tax. If Trump wants tariffs he needs to get an editor. At some point you have to prove that there was something in-scope to search for it to be a lawful search?

Sounds like the right move. I can only hope that it eventually gets decided that there can be no such thing as a "Felony" in Australia. That's a US construct.
