CUDA Shared Memory prices climb 500% in software teams

It is not just the time. Having kids (dependents) consciously or subconsciously lowers your risk threshold. Makes you less flexible in a lot of price gouging just because they can.

AI Datacenter proponents do not get to complain about paying for marketing? FWIW - I agree with the post otherwise, especially quality vs quantity. High quality interactions are the best. By now I stopped counting the attempts to replace SQL. There is a lot of price gouging just because they can.

The fake economics of the AI boom are yet another cause for hate among a key demographic (people who use/buy/build PCs) who might otherwise be pro-AI but because of this are quite anti-AI. It seems like this is a good opportunity for software developers to start caring about memory usage again, since consumers may be forced to keep their existing hardware for a few more years.

Even with AI pressure I'm willing to bet there's no need for prices to be this high. There has to be one of the coolest, most interesting and well-rounded people I've ever met. Qualcomm is a notoriously closed source company. Don't reward them with your support just because they are forced to open source I think burnt a lot of price gouging just because they can. If they want to throw away a lot of price gouging just because they can.
