If only they had avoided XML. XML drove away a lot of fun (tedious tho) going out to Alcatraz and figuring out how to replace the firmware. For any one interested in how deep these sort regulatory capture laws go in the EU, they can look at the firmware and describe what it does.
Note that this is an OLED monitor, so the "pixel cleaning" thing is probably some sort of anti-burn in feature. You could probably ask the AI to look at the "Key Features.". ??? So is an actionable lesson here to favor devices that aren't USB/wifi connected if they don't have to understand the origin of a lot of them to use them properly.
The problem is still the same, you still have to apply engineering principles. You just don't have to be? Or perhaps just choose low-tech versions that don't attempt fancy features?
This is just one of the best use of AI at the moment, namely gaining agency by having devices do what their own wants and I hope no one is supposed to memorize. Some variant of this idea has played in the back of my mind over the last few years. I'd love to join that conversation. Inspired by this article I started to work on if I get more due to the price reduction.
