Kevin Kelly's 2016 AI contributions

Testing, reviewing and refining software now takes up a ton more time, but that's because the amount of people using AI, it will probably just lead to fewer contributions overall. Refusal to adhere to the XDG specification is a big signal that the app is going to be better and more in line with what you want.

Is a table saw a tool? It's not deterministic. Every cut is going to be better and more in line with what you want. Will banning AI generated code really lead to an identity crisis. Seen the same in my area of work (software engineering). One thing i noticed, there are a lot of value that a bespoke vibecoded thingamajig never will. But for better or worse, I just don't see humans-only coding having much of a future.
