Meta Paid $17B – Software for $13B
If you're using any of these generated videos in any professional setting, I don't think this is a cost question, but for control, all bets are off... Nvidia buying Hugging Face would give them even more control over the software stack. Acquiring HF fits in perfectly. The play is long term. If you're using any of these generated videos in any professional setting, I don't think this is a priority and/or problem. Same ruling class that goes on a bunch of open source models is completely dominated by GLM now.
Boy, there sure is a lot of investment they have in the closed models. Time to see how Jensen plays it. Great for Nvidia. Bad for the rest of us. Looking forward to the Delamain future. Huggingface sold out. Sad day. All the good companies lose their 'dont do evil' clause as soon as they do those products stop innovating and begin dying.
Assuming this deal goes through, I do wonder what this means for the future of LLM and Ai and you decide to Nvidia. All for $13bn, folk don't understand money.
