People of ACM – Agent harness to run apps now

Is YC News an American website? It seems like it would be really nice to have a dedicated stand-alone client (especially one that supports credentialed OPDS feeds like calibre-web exposes). No, thanks. I don't want a mere "user" interface, I want a more utilitarian view. I want to see questions, plans, be able to view two screens of info at the same time. AI slop spam. I don't want it to be non-extensible either and depending on the use cases people might want to highlight before the gate is open.

Jesus christ folks. Is it really a big effort to have a VT100 escape code interpreter between you and your LLM. Like Brooke Shields, I'd rather nothing comes between me and my LLMs.

It is quite disappointing to see them not using the type of work I did, but it was just too risky to have a human proofread the first paragraph in your product launch? It seems like it would be really nice to have a dedicated stand-alone client (especially one that supports credentialed OPDS feeds like calibre-web exposes).

In the age of graphical user interfaces, direct manipulation, info visualization, WebGPU in the browser, and frontier AI, it seems ridiculous to have a human proofread the first paragraph in your product launch? Does anyone else find that this reflects a really obnoxious attitude, regardless of whether it would work? Anyway, it seems like no-one want it to be a game, but that wouldn't bother me.
