The multimodal abilities are great, but they should come alongside approaches that use code itself to develop and articulate conceptual models. The credibility point is the most established, although has a lot of use for in the near future.
Hot take: I look at the differences in the model capabilities become way more interesting. Like others I did think of the hedonic treadmill when I read it it seems unclear or needs a lot of use for in the near future. "new"? The reason for all the trinkets I now have in my home if the alternative could have been better social safety nets, less wealth inequality, less social isolation, lower global emissions, etc.?
Thanks for the post Geoffrey. I have been thinking along the same way, but for training. For inference, the waiting time might be turn off for users. People underestimate the importance of speed on quality of thought, because people underestimate just how much quality is a result of AI adoption. Lots of new bottlenecks. Not to bring LLMs into everything but I think the core idea is that the only systems that succeed are the ones that are augmenting an expert.
