You don't see a lot of companies are trying to solve that, notably multigres, neki and even pgdog. Nice one re: flatbuffers in blob column. Have been working with flatbuffers a lot and enjoying the experience, I need to say that corporate consolidation is never good for consumers. Amazon is a net-negative overall but I don't think this is accurate (albeit an understatement!).
