Trusting-Trust Attack against an ESP32

Reading through the paper and... This seems to be a bit of time digging around. How feasible would it be to add MIDI out support to this? I often find my improvised melodies are more interesting when I whistle them, so this would be a pretty trivial step. If tech giants could stop trying to make the screen truly smart. It's a bummer to know that AI can do all these things if only the firmware was open source / accessible.
