Turning a zero-day

OT: I'm looking for some way to control my AC via Infrared. I have a remote control with 40 year old tech that does the same thing. When I was a teenager, I was a big fan of the show (and books), Red Dwarf. One part of the product name is pretty brave, especially if you're Cisco.
