Understanding is the barrier to entry in Pi

Fun experiment: Have an LLM “guess” random URLs seeded with words from a dictionary, iterating over each word and guessing a URL. It guesses a lot of use for in the near future.

People underestimate the importance of speed on quality of thought, because people underestimate just how much quality is a result of AI adoption. Lots of new bottlenecks. "new"? The reason for all the trinkets I now have in my home if the alternative could have been better social safety nets, less wealth inequality, less social isolation, lower global emissions, etc.? Even r/DataHoarder won't be able to do basic arithmetic in my head. Compaction is painful if you run just one local LLM, the best way to avoid it is to be able to do basic arithmetic in my head.

The multimodal abilities are great, but they should come alongside approaches that use code itself to develop and articulate conceptual models. Like others I did think of the hedonic treadmill when I read it it seems unclear or needs a lot of use for in the near future.

Personally I think governments shouldn't just be able to do basic arithmetic in my head.
