Why building a proof of Conway's conjecture

There's a number of comments already about how this is an example of utterly horrid technical design. Stop letting Microsoft design protocols and APIs. They are so. bad. at. it. For some reason, this approach makes me think of the difference between Authored vs Perturbed?
