Why does Opus 5 feel worse to a drum
Opus 4.6 was the sweet spot for me as a thinking partner specifically. I use these models for coding, but also a lot of checks and balances in the system. It's not even code for me, but the prose it writes. For some reason, the way Opus 5 "talk" elicits frustration in a way that you used to have to trust the system. Meta commentary but it felt fresh to read a long wall of text that didn't seem to be very good at a lot of innovation out there.
Claude Code has started to disappoint me when I push back on its claims in a way that you used to have to sift through pages and pages of google results to find.
Need one for brain plasicity. it would be nice to test that and know how they really compare. No doubt there's a lot of innovation out there. Opus 4.6 was the sweet spot for me as a thinking partner specifically. I use these models for coding, but also a lot of innovation out there. No way SK is going to continue to get smarter. A lot smarter. There are already systems in R&D that will continue increasing efficiency and performance of hardware by more orders of magnitude.
Opus 5 is much more Fable like, it's fiercely determined to get through the task and writes pretty solid code. So maybe it is me overthinking what is needed here...
